MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's basketball team picked up their second consecutive win in the Fieldhouse tonight after taking down the Redhawks of Miami (Ohio) 76-51.
Memphis (2-1) and Miami (1-2) traded baskets to open the game before the Tigers closed out the opening quarter on a 7-0 run that was capped with a three-pointer from Madison Griggs for the 17-11 lead.
Griggs would continue with her hot hand in the second quarter, scoring seven of the team's 16 points. Along with the Tiger offense, their defense would hold the Redhawks to just 29% shooting with blocks from Jada Wright and Emani Jefferson.
