MEMPHIS, Tenn. – No. 8 Memphis dropped a 2-0 decision to USF in the American Athletic Conference final on Sunday afternoon at Park Avenue Campus.
The Tigers and Bulls held firm until a pair of USF goals in the second half yielded the result. Despite the setback, Memphis will shift its focus in anticipation of earning an at-large bid in this week's NCAA Tournament.
"The better team won today. Sometimes in life you get beat. You take it, and what do you do with it?" head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "We've got more soccer to play.
