BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 52nd-ranked Memphis Tiger women's tennis team returned to the court Sunday and captured two wins, defeating UAB 4-2 and Samford 4-1 in Birmingham, Ala.
The Tigers (15-5) have won eight of their last nine matches.
Memphis lost the doubles point against UAB but proceeded to take the first three singles points to open a 3-1 lead in the match. After UAB picked up a win on court two, Camila Soares clinched the contest for the Tigers with a 6-4, 7-5 win in the fifth position.
The Tigers rebounded to take the doubles point against Samford in the afternoon match, and Camila Romero, Emily Meyer and Monique Woog all won their singles matches to finish the contest for Memphis.
