NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 17 Memphis women's soccer team earned its first-ever win over a Top 10 opponent by defeating No. 6 Vanderbilt 3-2 in overtime on Sunday. Junior midfielder Tanya Boychuk scored a golden goal in the 96th minute to give the Tigers the victory.
Memphis (7-1 overall, 5-0 AAC) held a 2-0 lead behind second-half goals from midfielders Mya Jones and Haylee Spray. Vanderbilt (9-5, 8-4 SEC) scored in the 77th minute to cut the lead in half. The Commodores added an equalizer 11 minutes later to force overtime.
