MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis men's tennis team will find out this afternoon if they have earned their fifth NCAA tournament berth in six years as the NCAA airs it men's selection show at 4 p.m. (CT) on NCAA.com.
Memphis made its first NCAA appearance in school history in 2012. The Tigers then won Conference USA and its automatic bid in 2013 and advanced to the Round of 16 at the University of Illinois. In 2014, the Tigers again received an NCAA at-large bid, and again ventured to Illinois, advancing to the second round.
After missing the 2015 season following the graduation of a five-member senior class that included two players now playing professionally on the ATP Tour (David O'Hare, Joe Salisbury), the Tigers returned to the NCAA field last season with a team of largely sophomores, falling in the first round to Mississippi State, 4-1, in the opening round.
