PALM CITY, Fla. – Behind a blistering first-round score of 289, the Memphis Tiger men's golf team stands in 14th place in the competitive Valspar Collegiate, an event where every team in the field is ranked inside of the top-50 in the Golfstat National Team Rankings.
Eighth ranked Texas leads the field with rounds of 283 and 297, and are ten strokes ahead of the field, which includes 22nd ranked LSU (286-294-580), 13th ranked Oklahoma (295-288-583), and 29th ranked Texas A&M (294-290-584) that round out the top four. Memphis's first round score was countered with a second round 316, and the Tigers' score of 605 has them six strokes ahead of seventh ranked Florida.
