MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Recent University of Memphis basketball signee Kareem Brewton has been named a First Team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
Brewton, a native of Claxton, Georgia, was twice named the Southern Conference Player of the Year, including this season after averaging 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game for Eastern Florida State College. His 718 overall points were third-most in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I, while his scoring average ranked 26th.
He is the first first-team NJCAA All-American for Memphis since 2000-01 when the Tigers signed Chris Massie.
