For the second straight match, Memphis tussled with a nationally-ranked opponent and fell narrowly short of a win. The Tigers were arguably the better team Thursday night at Mike Rose Soccer Complex, despite allowing a late goal and losing 1-0 to No. 15 UConn.
"We did a very good job of possessing and keeping the ball but at the end of the day I'm disappointed with the number of opportunities they had, even though we did outshoot them," Memphis assistant coach Johnny Walker said. "They are a very dangerous team and for us to allow them to have the chances is disappointing.
