Sydney Kingston scored her first career goal but the Tigers couldn't manage anything else as Memphis lost 2-1 to Western Kentucky Friday night at WKU Soccer Complex. Memphis returns to Mike Rose Soccer Complex to host Ole Miss Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
"We never seemed to be on the same page tonight. I didn't feel like we played as a team," Memphis head coach Brooks Monaghan said. "Today we came up against a team that wanted it a little more than we did. We were just very disconnected tonight."
Kingston finished off a corner kick taken by Elysia Masters that tied the game 1-1 in the 73rd minute but 10 minutes later WKU retook the lead.
