MEMPHIS — Tiger men's basketball sophomore D.J. Jeffries is one of 20 players nationally on the watch list for the 2021 Julius Erving Award, the award announced Wednesday.
The Julius Erving Award, in its seventh year, is presented annually by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame to the top small forward in Division I basketball. The 20-player watch list was determined by a national committee.
The 6-foot-7 Jeffries appeared in 19 games as a freshman with 13 starts, averaging 10.8 points and 4.3 rebounds. He scored a career-high 23 points in a win over Ole Miss last November and had 18 points each in January home games against Cincinnati and SMU.
