STORRS, Conn. – A goal in the 85th minute by SMU proved to be too much to overcome as the University of Memphis women's soccer team fell in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament by a score of 1-0 Friday afternoon in Storrs, Conn. The loss puts Memphis at 14-4-1 overall this season.
Offensively in the first half, neither team was able to develop any sort of momentum. Memphis had an opportunity early in the contest, but strong defense by SMU kept Valerie Sanderson from having a good look at goal.
