Memphis Falls in Series Finale to EIU

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis fell behind early and could not mount a comeback as the Tigers lost 6-2 to Eastern Illinois in the series finale.

The Tigers (2-5) are back at FedExPark Tuesday at 4 p.m. to host Southeast Missouri for Dollar Hot Dog Night. Memphis and SEMO last played in 2014.

Eastern Illinois jumped in front early for the third-straight game, scoring four runs in the top of the second inning. A solo home run started the scoring but the further damage came with two outs with a two-run triple and an RBI single.

EIU tacked on another run in the third, chasing Tigers starter Alex Hicks out of the game.
