MEMPHIS, Tenn.– The Memphis softball team fell in extra innings to UCF 2-3, on Friday night. The Tigers (8-40) took the Knights into the bottom of the ninth inning but were unable to capitalize with runners on base to close out the game. Memphis held UCF scoreless into the sixth inning and gave up only three runs on 10 hits.
"I thought we showed some good stuff offensively and defensively, but we need to come up with some key hits when we have runners on base. We had an opportunity in the bottom of the seventh to close and we just couldn't put it together.
