Memphis Defeats USF in Five Set Thriller

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis (11-4,1-1) and USF (6-6,0-2) were both looking for their first conference win on Sunday afternoon. Memphis would earn the 3-2 (25-20,16-25,25-21,19-25,15-13) victory after a 2.5 hour match against the Bulls.

Falling into an early hole in the first set, Memphis used a 7-1 scoring run to take the 10-9 advantage over the BUlls. USF and Memphis exchanged kills with the Tigers pulling away to win the set 25-20. USF would dominate in the second, going on a 10-0 run and winning it 25-16.

Memphis was down 14-9 during the third frame but a Bull's error followed by two Tiger kills forced USF to take a timeout, and Memphis followed with a 7-2 run giving them the 19-17 lead.
