MIAMI – Former University of Memphis guard has taken another toward playing in the NBA.
The Miami Heat announced Thursday they signed Martin, who played four seasons with the Tigers after a stellar prep career at Mitchell High in Memphis.
No terms of the deals were announced. Martin was reported to have agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal last month, a contract that would guarantee him $50,000 and a roster spot on the Heat's G-League affiliate in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Martin has been playing in the NBA Summer League and has appeared in six games with Miami averaging 5 points, 2.
