Lynch Named American Player of the Week

University of Memphis quarterback has been named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance against SMU on Saturday. The weekly honor from the conference marked Lynch's third of the season and fifth of his career.

The American also recognized Temple senior linebacker Tyler Matakevich and Cincinnati sophomore place-kicker Andrew Gantz as players of the week on Monday.

In Memphis' 63-0 shutout of SMU last week, Lynch set an American Athletic Conference record by passing for seven touchdowns. In one half of play, Lynch completed 9-of-14 passes for 222 yards. He spread out the seven touchdown passes to seven different receivers, every player to catch a pass in the first half of the game.
