Memphis junior Marie Levasseur has helped lead the Canadian Women's National Team to the championship match of the prestigious Algarve Cup in Portugal. Canada will play against Spain in the final on March 8.
Levasseur has started the last two matches for Canada, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win over Russia and 68 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Portugal to advance to the final.
With those two results featuring Levasseur, along with a 1-0 win over Denmark in the tournament opener, the Canadians won Group A.
Canada is looking to repeat as champions after winning the 2016 edition of the Algarve Cup, its first appearance at the tournament since 2003.
