MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis junior forward Marie Levasseur has been called up to Canada Soccer's Women's National Team to compete in next month's Algarve Cup. The tournament hosted in Portugal since 1994 is one of the most prestigious and longest-running women's international football events.
Canada will be playing to defend its 2016 title with a squad blending experience and youth. The 24th edition of the invitational Algarve Cup will take place from March 1-8. Canada faces Denmark on March 1, Russia on March 3, and hosts Portugal on March 6, with the final match scheduled for March 8.
