CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – University of Memphis track and field placed second in both the men's and women's competitions at the Joey Haines Invitational Friday and Saturday.
Among eight first-place finishes for Memphis were Austin Jackson and Samantha Lenton. Jackson was a double-winner with top finishes in the men's 100-meter and 200-meter dashes (10.64 and 21.91, respectively). Lenton recorded a first-place performance in the women's discus, as well as second-place finishes in shot put and the hammer throw. With her 57.20-meter discus throw, Lenton is now ranked eighth in the nation.
