FORMBY, England - University of Memphis junior is set for the opening day of the 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup, hosted at the Formby Golf Club in Formby England.
van Meijel, who recently graduated from the University of Memphis and is expected to become a professional following this event, opens play on Friday with two sets of competition: Foursomes Match (Alternate Shot) and Four-Ball Match (Better Ball). Saturday and Sunday's action will be singles matches featuring the European team and the United States team.
Among van Meijel's teammates for the event include Matthias Schwab (Austria) from Vanderbilt, Sam Horsfield (England) from Florida, David Boote (Wales) from Stanford, Antoine Rozner (France) of UMKC, Robin Sciot-Siegrist (France) of Louisville, Mathias Eggenberger (Switzerland) from Stirling, Adrian Meronk (Poland) from East Tennessee State, Robin Petersson (Sweden) from Augusta State, and Stuart Grehan (Ireland) from Maynooth.
