MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Tennessee Lottery, has announced its honorees for the 2023 Achievement Awards with Mya Jones being named as the Female Amateur Athlete of the Year.
Jones, a 5-5 forward/midfielder from Calgary, Alberta, paced the team with nine goals and 20 points this season, including three game-winning goals. The All-AAC First Team selection helped the Tigers to defend their American Athletic Conference Championship crown and earn the program's fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
"I am extremely proud of Mya being named as the Female Amateur Athlete of the Year," said head women's soccer coach Brooks Monaghan.
