MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's basketball team had themselves a day as they cruised to a 101-54 win over Howard University.
Following today's game, Memphis moves to 1-1 overall this season.
After trading baskets to open the game, Makaiya Brooks came in off the bench to ignite the Tigers offense. Brooks drained four consecutive three-pointers to push the Memphis lead out to 27-10 with just over two minutes left in the quarter.
Six combined free throws from Jamirah Shutes, Tanyuel Welch and Lanetta Williams would close out the opening quarter to give the Tigers the 33-14 lead.
