Senior women's golfer Abby Herrmann is in the top 10 at the end of day one of the Mercedes-Benz at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Monday. An opening round 69, combined with a second round 73, put Herrmann at 142, tied for 10th overall. Herrmann bogeyed her opening hole but quickly got back to even and went under par thanks to four straight birdies on holes 14, 15, 16 and 17. Two bogeys on the back side pushed her to -1, but she birdied her final hole (11), to card an opening round 69.
