WICHITA, Kan. – University of Memphis' and raised the Tigers' medal count to five with second-place performances in their respective events during Saturday action at the 2019 American Athletic Conference Championships.
After the second day, the Memphis women are in third place with 45 points. The Tigers men are fourth with 21 points.
Gordon and Sanchez-Pinto brought home silvers with second-place finishes in the women's long jump and men's 3000-meter steeplechase, respectively. Gordon was second with a leap of 20-7.25 (6.28m), and Sanchez-Pinto crossed the finish line in second place with a time of 8:59.
