MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After his record-setting performance, Memphis baseball catcher Hunter Goodman was named the American Athletic Conference's Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Throughout the Tigers' 4-0 week, Goodman posted 24 RBI. In the Tigers' three-game series against Western Illinois, Goodman produced 22 RBI behind four home runs - three of which were grand slams on each day - two doubles, seven runs scored and also stole a base.
On Sunday the Preseason All-Conference selection set a Memphis and American Athletic Conference single-game record with 11 RBI. His 11 RBI on Sunday are also the most in a Division I game this season.
