MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Adding to his postseason accolades, Memphis baseball freshman Hunter Goodman was named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-America team, powered by Diamond, the organization announced Wednesday.
After being named the American Athletic Conference's Newcomer Position Player of the Year and earning first-team All-AAC honors last month, Goodman became the first Memphis rookie named Freshman All-America since the outlet announced Brent Dlugach as a Freshman All-American in 2002.
Goodman paced the Tigers' offense this spring. The Arlington, Tenn., native led the squad in batting average (.326), runs (51), hits (78), doubles (16), triples (2), home runs (13) and RBI (67).
