The University of Memphis football team faced its first dose of adversity Saturday against Kansas. This week, on the road against Bowling Green, the Tigers will face their first true test.
At his weekly luncheon with members of the media, Memphis coach Justin Fuente admitted that his team is taking "a pretty significant step up in competition this week" against the Falcons, who crushed Maryland, 48-27, one week after hanging with Tennessee in Nashville.
Redshirt senior Matt Johnson threw for 491 yards and six touchdowns against the Terrapins. He leads an uptempo Bowling Green offense that has averaged 570 yards through two games.
