MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis punter Joe Doyle was named to the 2022 Ray Guy Award Preseason Watchlist on Wednesday, the Augusta Sports Council announced. The Ray Guy Award is given annually to the nation top collegiate punter in the FBS.
Last season, Doyle earned Second-Team All-AAC honors from Phil Steele after punting 41 times for an average of 46.0 yards with four touchbacks and 14 fair catches. He also had 16 punts downed inside the 20-yard line and totaled 16 punts over 50 yards on the year.
The Augusta Sports Council created the Ray Guy Award in 2000 to honor Thomson, Georgia native and College and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Ray Guy.
