MEMPHIS – Former University of Memphis running back DeAngelo Williams was scheduled to be inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in Nashville in August before CoVID forced the cancellation of the in-person event. However, the TSHOF will air a televised special on Sunday at 4 pm on WLMT CW30 which features the entire 2020 class, including the all-time Memphis great.
Williams still holds 10 school records after rushing for 6,026 yards and 55 touchdowns over his four-year career. In 2005, he was a Heisman Tropy candidate and averaged an NCAA-leading 178.55 rushing yards per game as a senior.
