MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis junior running back was named to the Walter Camp Award watch list Friday. The Walter Camp Award is the nation's fourth-oldest honor and is awarded each December to the college football player of the year.
This is the third preseason watch list for Henderson, who was also named to the Maxwell Award and Doak Walker Award watch lists. The junior running back was a second-team all-conference honoree last season after setting a Memphis record with 8.9 yards per rush. He posted seven 100-plus yard rushing games in 2017, a mark that trails All-American DeAngelo Williams (34), Curtis Steele (12) and Gerard Arnold (11).
