The Tigers paired the steady offense with solid pitching, as Memphis didn't allow an extra-base hit.

How it happened:
- Memphis struck right away, as CF Zach Wilson led off the game with a double, 3B Logan Kohler followed with a walk, and a single by SS Ben Brooks loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning against Lord
- DH Jacob Compton followed with a bases loaded two-run double, which put Memphis in front 2-0 four batters into the game, a lead the Tigers never relinquished
- The Tigers added a run in the third, as Wilson led off the frame with his second double of the game and later scored on an RBI groundout by Kohler, as Memphis led 3-0 after 2.
