MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Colorado Rockies drafted Memphis catcher Hunter Goodman Monday in the fourth round, pick 109, in the 2021 MLB Draft. Across three seasons with the Tigers, Goodman hit .323 with 29 doubles, 41 home runs, and 149 RBIs.
Goodman's selection marks the second time in the past four MLB Drafts that the Tigers have a selection in the first four rounds. In 2018, the Kansas City Royals selected Jonathan Bowlan with the 58th overall selection. Aside from 2020's shortened MLB Draft (five rounds), the Tigers have had at least one player selected in each of the past 12 drafts.
