CARBONDALE, Ill. – University of Memphis freshmen and are first and second, respectively, in the men's heptathlon after first-day action at the 2017 Don DeNoon Invitational Friday. Four of the seven events were held Friday, and the heptathlon concludes with three additional events Saturday.
Biere and Hosten both are competing in their first heptathlon at the collegiate level.
On the women's side, had the squad's best finish with a fourth-place performance in the pole vault.
