HILTON HEAD, S.C. – University of Memphis senior Bradley Bawden fired a 2-under 70 in Tuesday's final round of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate to become the first sole medalist for the Tigers in three seasons.
Bawden finished at 4-under 212 for a one-stroke victory over Brandon Einstein. Bawden was two strokes better than Brendan MacDougall. Einstein and MacDougall are from High Point College.
Bawden shot 1-over 37 on the front side Tuesday, but closed with a bogey-free back nine that included birdies at 10, 11 and 17.
Behind Bawden's effort, the Tigers posted a third-place finish in the 19-team field.
