MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the second consecutive year, Memphis baseball senior Alec Trela was named an Academic All-American.
The third baseman garnered First Team Academic All-America honors, as voted by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday.
Last year, Trela was voted to the third team in addition to earning All-District accolades in 2019 and 2020. In joining Tucker Tubbs (2015) and Chad Zurcher (2011) as Memphis alumnus Academic All-American honorees last year, Trela is now the first Tiger in program history to earn multiple Academic All-America nods.
