The Iowa Energy, the Memphis Grizzlies D-League affiliate, start their season on Nov. 11 at the Los Angeles Defenders. Last season, the Energy finished third in the Central Division and failed to make the playoffs. For their 10th anniversary, they’re looking this year to replicate the success of 2011, when they won the championship.
For those not in the know, the Iowa Energy play in Des Moines, Iowa and entered a single affiliation deal with the Grizzlies in 2014. Players in the D-League can receive call-ups to the NBA, usually as part of a 10-day contract, which are available after Jan.
