To call the Memphis Grizzlies 2019-20 campaign a success would be a mild understatement.
In a turnaround equally as dramatic as unexpected, Memphis rose from rebuilding doormat to playoff contender in a matter of months. Along the way, they hit home runs with two rookies, unearthed new upside from their supporting cast, and affirmed that they made stellar hires for both their coach (Taylor Jenkins) and front office (Zach Kleiman).
Unfortunately, that season was interrupted by a global pandemic, leaving the Grizzlies in hibernation for the past three months. But if the players don’t balk first, the NBA season will resume July 31, and the Grizzlies will get some (altered) closure.
