By Stevie Johnson & Michael Wallace MEMPHIS – It’s another hectic work night for Penny Hardaway, but few hardly notice judging by how smoothly the 6-foot-7 man in the white polo shirt, khaki pants and retro Air Jordan shoes glides through the standing-room-only crowd. These days, it’s increasingly difficult to determine the bigger attraction: The former NBA superstar, or his latest hoops mission. It’s about 20 minutes before tip-off on an early February night, and Hardaway is still mingling among the masses at Memphis’ East High School gym. Everyone wants a piece of Hardaway – from selfie-seeking students to grinning grandparents reminiscing as handshakes morph into hugs.
