Jarell Martin, the Memphis Grizzlies’ 2015 first-round draft pick, didn’t have a good game in the first Summer League matchup. Although he scored 13 points, it took him 12 shots to get there. In addition, he couldn’t stop fouling as he picked up eight fouls (side-note: Summer League allows put to 10 fouls). Things weren’t looking pretty for the big man.
As he’s entering his third year in the league, this Summer League is crucial. Martin should be demolishing just about everybody in these games. Most players are either rookies, sophomores or guys trying to find a spot on a training camp roster.
