Brandan Wright has been nothing short of a mystery to the fans here. The Memphis Grizzlies signed Wright to an inexpensive three-year, $17.1M contract in the summer of 2015. After bouncing around the league, Wright choose Memphis to be closer to home in the state of Tennessee. With the acquisition of Wright, Wallace got himself a former McDonald’s All-American – one of his favorites. He also replaced Kosta Koufos – the former backup who was seeking a starting role elsewhere – with a more athletic big man. He was the perfect backup for Marc Gasol and the Memphis Grizzlies.
