The Iowa Energy announced today that Head Coach Matt Woodley has been relieved of his head coaching duties, effective immediately.
Glynn Cyprien, a native of New Orleans, has been named Interim Head Coach of the Energy.
Glynn Cyprien joined the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2014-15 season as basketball operations assistant/scout, returning to the city where he helped guide the University of Memphis to 49 victories and consecutive postseason tournament appearances in two seasons (2009-11) as an assistant coach under Josh Pastner. The Tigers went 25-10 during the 2010-11 season, winning the Conference USA Tournament Championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
