Mike Conley is keeping his clear protective mask to start off the regular season. At least till he feels more comfortable. His facial injuries (left cheek) have thankfully fully healed since suffering an elbow last season. It’s understandable Conley wants to take his time after the severity of the injury. One that left a broken facial bone and damage to the walls of the orbit around his left eye. He would require surgical repair and the insertion of a metal plate. Despite the injury, Conley heroically returned to the NBA playoffs, inspiring the Grizzlies to a Game 2 win against the Golden State Warriors.
