Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced the team has assigned forward Troy Williams from its NBA Development League affiliate, the Iowa Energy.
Williams (6-7, 218) has appeared in nine games (two starts) over two assignments with the Energy (Dec. 26-Jan. 4, Jan. 5-25) and has averaged 15.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 21.5 minutes.
The 22-year-old has appeared in 24 games (13 starts) for the Grizzlies during his rookie season and has averaged 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.00 steals in 17.4 minutes. A native of Hampton, Va., Williams went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft after his junior season at Indiana University and signed with Memphis as a free agent on Aug.
