The Memphis Grizzlies assigned forward James Ennis, forward Jarell Martin and guard Russ Smith to the team’s NBA Development League affiliate, the Iowa Energy, Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace announced today. This marks the fourth assignment to Iowa for Ennis and the first for Smith and Martin this season.
Ennis (6-7, 210) has averaged 23.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.33 steals in 36.8 minutes in three games (all starts) in his first three assignments with the Energy. The 25-year-old scored 32 points in his NBA D-League debut on Dec. 5 at Canton. The 2013 Big Sky Player of the Year at California State University, Long Beach has totaled seven points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in 26 minutes through seven appearances this season with the Grizzlies and Miami Heat.
