It’s not been a secret that Brandan Wright hasn’t lived up to what the Memphis Grizzlies envisioned when they signed him to a 3 year, $18 million deal two summers ago. This hasn’t been due to bad play necessarily. In fact, Brandan’s athleticism and finishing ability were a breath of fresh air during this past season. Unfortunately, injuries have been his biggest obstacle to success, playing in only 40 games over the last two seasons.
The Grizzlies signed Brandan Wright with the idea that he could give this aging team some much-needed athleticism. His length and athleticism would allow the Grizzlies to play a more up-tempo style in the faster modern NBA.
