With the Memphis Grizzlies suffering another heartbreaking loss on Monday — this time after being up as many as 25 points versus the Denver Nuggets — the team is now back to seventh in top-eight protected territory for their 2019 first round NBA Draft pick.
The Boston Celtics receive the pick if it gets lower than eight, but Monday’s loss makes it that much more difficult to convey the pick.
At this point, Memphis is in full tank-mode, even if they are keeping things close, such as their two-point overtime loss at the buzzer on Wednesday to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
