In a shocking twist which seemingly came out of the left field, the Memphis Grizzlies have signed 37-year-old veteran Vince Carter to a multi-year deal.
Here's Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports with the scoop:

Per Wojnarowski, the third year of Carter's deal comes with a caveat:

While Carter's days as a superstar may be long behind him, he emerged as a invaluable role player for the Dallas Mavericks in his three years with the team. Fluctuating between small forward and shooting guard, Carter was a huge catalyst for the Mavericks offense - facilitating others while posting the three lowest shots per game totals of his sixteen-year career.
Now, the man who emerged as a emotional leader in the Big D comes to Memphis with the same designs in mind.
