The Memphis Grizzlies had another strong showing in the 2015 postseason, but eventually didn't have enough to get past the eventual champion Golden State Warriors. However, this team is locked and loaded to make a run at the title in 2016. Here are three reasons why the Grizzlies can win it all:
Marc Gasol is BACK
Memphis thought they might lose their All-Star center and franchise player Marc Gasol in free agency, but he's back in the fold after agreeing to a max contract. He averaged a career-high 17.4 points per game last season, and his expanding offense - along with his defensive dominance and deft passing touch - allow the Grizzlies to match anybody in the league.
Improved offense
Jeff Green will be playing in his first full season with Memphis, and should be more fully involved in the offseason after having more time to learn the system. Throw in the additions of Russ Smith and Brandan Wright, as well as the improvement of second-year man Jordan Adams, and the Grizzlies will have more offensive weapons than they've ever had.
Veteran leadership
Mike Conley showed how great of a leader he is last postseason by playing with a broken bone in his face against the Warriors while leading the Grizzlies to two straight wins. Gasol and Zach Randolph also headline a battle-tested roster that has accomplished everything they possibly can - except for making the Finals. They'll be more determined than ever to get over that hump in 2016.
