Yannick Ngakoue sets Maryland single-season sacks record

In the first quarter of Maryland's matchup with Indiana, defensive end Yannick Ngakoue set the program's single-season sacks record with a strip sack of Hoosiers quarterback Nate Sudfeld.

Defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson snatched the ball out of the air, and it was initially ruled an interception. But after further review, it was changed to a sack.

Ngakoue has 13 1/2 sacks this season, which breaks the record of 13 held by Bruce Palmer (1978) and Mark Duda (1982).

Ngakoue has 21 1/2 sacks in his three seasons at Maryland. Andre Monroe holds the career record with 25.
