Maryland wide receiver Marcus Leak has withdrawn from school “to tend to personal matters” and is no longer part of the Terrapins football program, an athletic department spokesman said Friday.
Leak, a former three-star recruit who struggled on and off the field for much of his time in College Park, will not have another opportunity to play at Maryland in the future, according to an athletic department spokesman. His departure comes after a dazzling performance in Maryland’s spring game in April, when he caught six passes for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
